Purpose of the Project:

Every child has a right to learn and get a good quality education, regardless of gender, where they live or their circumstances. Because educated girls can make informed choices from a far better range of options, educating girls saves lives and builds stronger families, communities and economies.

Education is the backbone of proper society and through education, we can improve all aspects of life regardless of background, financial status and gender. Sadly, in many impoverished communities, boys are still considered superior to girls and girls are often left behind to maintain the household with little regard for their education. Girls tend to start responsibilities early enough. Preparing them for Early marriages are there parents don’t seem to find money to waste on educating girls. However, in some communities, girls are looked as carrying

However we hold a believe that if we educate a rural girl so that she can balance with an Urban child, this girl will benefit the status of there family and empower other women in society because every child that receives an education is more likely to make education a priority for her future children.

Often, girls are marginalised and are out of school simply because they are girls and it is not the cultural norm. Their chances of getting a quality education are even smaller if they come from a poor family, live in a rural area or have a disability.

Girls are four times more likely to be out of school than boys from the same background. However the poorest of them all and coming from Rural areas is most likely holding a failure to accomplish Primary School.

WHY Educating a girl is so important.

  • Educated mothers are better informed about sanitation, nutrition and immunisation for their children, leading to fewer child deaths from preventable diseases such as diarrhoea, pneumonia and malaria or from malnutrition.
  • A woman with an education can get a better job with higher wages and has the effect of addressing gender imbalances in the labour force. Increased levels of education have a greater positive impact on women’s wages.
  • An educated girl is better informed about pregnancy-related issues, as well as influences on her general health and that of her family.
  • Educated girls are far more likely to be aware of issues surrounding violence and abuse and are less likely to become victims of things like domestic and sexual abuse or human trafficking.

Girls who receive an education are less likely to marry young and more likely to lead healthy, productive lives. They earn higher incomes, participate in the decisions that most affect them, and build better futures for themselves and their families. (UNICEF)
